4 Major Reasons Why You Can’t Find Your Website On Google

Can’t find your website on Google? That maybe for a numerous of reasons, from age since launch date to SEO. Many people misinterpret SEO, or search engine optimization, as keywords stuffing. Because your homepage has your keyword placed 10+ times throughout the page, it doesn’t give your website more authority than the next one. With the technology available today, a bot can easily make hundreds of websites a day with your keyword. To combat this, Google is constantly updating their ranking algorithm.

1.  Your website is considered “new”.

When you launch your website, you may not be able to find your website immediately on Google! If your website has been on the internet for less than 6 months, it is considered “new” in Google’s eyes. Like mentioned earlier, thousands of websites go live every day. Google’s bots are constantly indexing websites to see if they are valid content.

  • Establish some business citations
  • Build out location-specific service pages
  • Start creating relevant blog content

 

2.  There is not enough content to index.

Google loves relevant content. Have you ever found a recipe online? You may have had to read through the author’s memoir to finally find the real recipe. Well, there are many reasons for this. The author may have found useful tips through comments and wanted to know everyone to know them. Another reason, and maybe the main reason, is for SEO.

How to solve this:

If your pages are pretty bare. Google will take it as a sign that if their bots can not fully understand your services, neither will visitors. Some best practices are having each page have at least 600 words and creating frequent blogs. Having pages with a good amount of content let Google know that you are an area expert in your field.

  • Add more content to every indexable page too at least 600 words
  • Create relatable blog content about your services at 1,200 words
  • Make sure to use relevant images with alt text and other types of media in all of your pages

 

3.  Your SEO is outdated

So, 5 years ago your website was highly ranked in Google and Bing. That may not be the case today. Unfortunately, now there are so many other components that go into having a strong exposure. If you are not constantly updating your website, you may have missed that SEO plugin updates or if the SEO plugin is even still relevant.

How to solve this:

You should start by looking at your meta descriptions for your website. Meta descriptions are the content that describes your website very briefly. It is important that your meta descriptions accurately reflect the content of the page.

 

4.  Your website is too slow
